With over three decades of adventure behind him, Paul “Reg” Gray lives and breathes the outdoors. His story began in the heart of Europe, instructing caving, climbing, kayaking and canoeing across France, Italy and Spain, sparking a lifelong passion for paddle sports. Reg’s expertise is world-class. He holds advanced qualifications in canoeing, kayaking and white-water rafting, and his expedition-log reads like a dream: multi-day canoe journeys in Scotland, Canada, Sweden and France; sea-kayaking through Greenland, Norway and the UK; and white-water rafting the mighty Grand Canyon. As a competitor, Reg represented Great Britain on the international rafting stage for over a decade, earning both silver and bronze medals at European and World Championships. His calm under pressure, technical skill and fearless spirit make him a standout leader in the field. Today, Reg brings his adventurous energy into the classroom too. As Senior Lecturer in Adventure Sports Coaching at the University of Central Lancashire, he mentors future outdoor experts, supporting PhD students and blending academic insight with real-life field experience.
