Protecting the places that make adventure possible
The landscapes and communities we travel through are the whole point. Looking after them is not a marketing exercise.
Our commitments
These are the things we actually do, rather than a pledge to be perfect. Travel has an impact. The question is whether it is a considered one.
- Employing local guides, drivers and cooks, paid properly
- Small groups, which reduces pressure on trails, sites and communities
- Reducing waste on trip, particularly single-use plastic
- Wildlife watched at a distance that suits the animal, not the photograph
- No animal experiences that involve riding, handling or performance
- Respect for local custom, dress and permission, explained before you travel
- Camps and trails left as we found them, or better
- Suppliers chosen for how they treat their people, not only their price
What you can do
Small things, done by everyone on a trip, add up to more than any single policy of ours: pack light, refill rather than buy, ask before photographing people, buy locally, and follow your leader on where it is appropriate to go.
Ask how it works on a particular trip
Which local partners we use, how a camp is run, or what happens to waste on a specific route. Ask about the trip you are considering.

- No pressureWe will not phone you unless you ask us to.
