Description
Day 1:
We will depart our Newcastle base at around 10 am in our minibus, with a few stops on the way so there will be plenty of opportunity to pick up some lunch. We will hopefully arrive at our accommodation in Braemar around 3 pm for a hearty meal. Tonight we will also have an expedition pre-chat with some drinks.
Day 2:
Get ready for a wild ride! After fuelling up with a delicious breakfast, we’re setting out to explore the wilderness and all its wonders. We’ll be catching some rapids on our journey while we enjoy a few refreshments along the way. When evening arrives, we don’t have far to go – Fire Island awaits us with plenty of driftwood waiting around the campfire side so dinner can cook itself as you kick back and toast your adventure in comfort.
Day 3:
Breakfast by the river then we carry on with a quick stop at the famous Ballater “by royal appointment” where we could see the royals hanging out. This stop is a good chance to get a few presents on the way and see this stunning village. Then on to “lone pine” camp, a big tree that gives us shelter while we are cooking around the fire.
Day 4:
After a spectacular few days of paddling through the Royal Dee, we’ll make one last short paddle to our final destination in the morning. Then it’s time to pack up and hit the road back towards Newcastle – hopefully with some unforgettable memories from the adventure!
