River Tweed Journey

17th - 18th October 2026

The River Tweed flows gently through the Borderlands, a landscape of abbeys, castles, and rolling hills. Starting near Coldstream, this short but stunning journey winds through the heart of the Scottish Borders before reaching the sea at Berwick-upon-Tweed. October brings glowing red and gold autumn leaves, making it one of the most scenic times of year to paddle. Wildlife adds to the magic — herons and swans glide by, salmon leap upriver, and if you’re lucky, otters slip quietly through the current. Evenings are spent camping by the river, cooking over the fire, and falling asleep to the sound of flowing water. As Joe puts it: “The Tweed has such a timeless feel. It’s gentle, historic, and perfect for anyone wanting a relaxed, scenic first journey.” – Joe Alexander.
