Trekking in Patagonia is a transformative experience that immerses you in the untamed beauty of one of the world’s most breathtaking and remote regions. Stretching across southern Chile and Argentina, Patagonia is renowned for its dramatic landscapes, including towering mountains, glaciers, pristine lakes, dense forests, and vast open plains.
Trekking here is an opportunity to explore this awe-inspiring wilderness, connect with nature, and challenge yourself amidst some of the most stunning scenery on the planet. Patagonia offers an incredible variety of landscapes to explore. From the jagged peaks of the Andes to the windswept plains and glacial valleys, each trekking route presents a unique and captivating environment.
Patagonia’s vast landscapes offer a sense of remoteness and solitude that’s hard to find elsewhere. Trekking trails often take you far from civilization, providing a rare opportunity to disconnect and reconnect with nature. It is also home to a variety of unique wildlife, including guanacos, condors, foxes, and even the elusive puma. While trekking, you might have the chance to spot these creatures in their natural habitat.

Itinerary
DAY 1- Flight from UK – connection in Santiago (Chile)
DAY 2 – Punta Arenas. Pick up from Punta Arenas airport, a private vehicle will take you to Puerto Natales (3 hrs)
DAY 3 – Puerto Natales. Free day to enjoy the town and its beautiful surroundings. Briefing in the afternoon (schedule to be confirmed)
DAY 4 – Base of the Towers trek. At 6:30 am private transportation will pick you up at your accommodation in Puerto Natales. It is a 2.5-hour drive to Torres del Paine National Park. which was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978.
You can do your check-in and leave your things at the Refugio or tent to trek light to the base of the Paine Towers! The most famous trail in the park. The trek is uphill almost all the way, but it is completely worth it when you get to the Towers Lookout! A unique view of the three huge granite giants and its turquoise Lagoon.
DAY 5 – Los Cuernos Trek. You have the whole day to walk from Las Torres Refugio to Frances Domes. The trail runs along the shores of Nordenskjold Lake through Beautiful Native Forests.
DAY 6 – The French Valley. Today you will explore the beautiful French Valley. After the Italiano Camp, there are two lookouts on the Valley. You can choose the difficulty of the day depending on how far you want to get. If you decide to walk to the last viewpoint, you will have a panoramic view of the western sector of the Valley and the mountains such as the North Peak of Paine Grande, Castillo (Castle), Cota 2000, Catedral, Aleta del Tiburon (Shark’s Fin) amongst other granite peaks.
After the Valley, the trail continues to Paine Grande Refugio, where you will spend the night.
DAY 7 – Grey Glacier. After breakfast, you will trek to Grey Refugio with incredible views of the magnificent Grey Glacier. There are a couple of lookouts of the Glacier on the way, but if you want to do a longer trek, you can visit the old “Los Guardas” campsite which has an incredible lookout to the Glacier from higher ground.
DAY 8 – Grey Glacier – Serrano River. Trek back to Paine Grande Refugio to catch the Catamarán to Pudeto dock. Private transportation will be waiting to take you to Weskar lodge (Punta Arenas) for a hot shower and a local meal.
DAY 9 – Rest day to explore the small Patagonian town
DAY 10 – Back up weather day
DAY 11 – Flight back to the UK
