Paddle boarding (SUP) and Hike, a Day in the Lake District

£94 per person

A great day in the Lakes, enjoying two fantastic activities. We’ll spend the morning on Ullswater Lake, paddle-boarding our way around the islands and soaking in the surrounding mountain scenery!

Out on the water, everything becomes tranquil and relaxing. You can practice your balancing skills with some paddle-boarding yoga, go for a dip and make a few super splashes diving into the calm deep waters, or simply enjoy your paddle and try your best to stay on your board. Whatever floats your boat!

Following a delicious lakeside lunch, we’ll head out for a walk. It’s impossible to visit the Lake District and not venture up one of the enticing hills. The intensity of the walk will be based on the group, we’ll collect details of previous hill walking background and current fitness level/walking ability and we’ll tailor a walk to suit. With so many to choose from in the area it’s not difficult to plot a low/mid-level stroll through some gorgeous valleys, or take it a bit higher and find a nice summit! This is a great opportunity to feast your eyes on the Lakes prized sheep, the Herdwick! With their adorable smiling face it’s hard to believe these beautiful creatures derived from Viking times!

Venue location and your arrival details

We’ll meet at our HQ in Newcastle at 6am. This is unit 6, Brinkburn Street. NE6 2AR.

We’ll have time to enjoy a quick coffee together before our drive to Ullswater in the Lakes, this will take a couple of hours, and we’ll be stopping for a toilet break shortly before we enter the Northern Lakes.

Ullswater is approx. 8 miles in length and is often described as one of the most beautiful lakes in the England. Being the second longest lake in the Lake District, after Windermere. It has a depth of 200 metres and is abundant with wildlife.

The local swans are extremely friendly, don’t be surprised if they swim over to say hello. We’ll set off on our SUP-venture and make our way around many of the islands here, one of the favourites is Norfolk Island. We can stop off here to stretch our legs.

At the end of the day we’ll return to the base where you can collect your car, we should be back between 4pm and 6pm. There’s good public transport links close to the base, with local bus routes and the metro station located a 10 minute walk away. Free parking is also available.
